Review highlights
Based on 1,000 reviewsMadre Tierra is consistently praised for its warm and attentive service, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Guests frequently highlight the freshness of the food, particularly the handmade tortillas and locally inspired dishes that capture authentic flavors. The restaurant's inviting ambiance, featuring a light, colorful interior and a relaxing patio, is appreciated for comfort even during warmer weather. While some note occasional waits during busy periods, the overall efficiency and quality of the meals compensate well. Many patrons recommend trying both breakfast and dinner options, with refreshing beverages like natural watermelon water adding to the appeal. Madre Tierra stands out as a charming spot that balances excellent food with friendly hospitality.
A bit of a wait during busy hours. Light and colorful place with attentive staff. Food came fairly quickly and tasted very good. Went for breakfast but delicious aroma makes me want to try dinner as well. The tortillas came in hot and fresh off the comal. The patio in the back looks relaxing and the inside has a mellow atmosphere.
The staff is very kind, the waiter recommended some options to me according to my mood and it was a good idea to follow his recommendation. The watermelon water is delicious, I completely recommend it, it is natural and very refreshing. The place is very nice, it has good airing and makes it very comfortable even when temerature outside was very high. I was lucky it was not crowded at all, so the service was good and fast, hopefully it is always this way
Delicioso !! This place is a must in your restaurant list, the staff, restaurant and food it’s amazing, we stop by for breakfast the panqueques (pancakes) my son love them, I got the Antiguanes!
Excellent service, great food and the place is very cute itself. Loved the fact that they have fresh tortillas made right at the entrance.
We are so glad we found this restaurant on Google. Our meal was delicious and the staff super welcoming. We had the tipocones with grilled chicken and Guatemalan sausage, Picadillo de lomito, and the chicken soup. All were delicious but the soup was SO good! We also got a sangria pitcher.Probably over ordered!
Delicious steak and cheeseburger, good price and super nice service! Highly recommend!
Excellent. Food is delicious and the staff is extremely kind. I asked the lady at the pharmacy down the street where I should go eat if I only am eating out one night in Antigua. She said Madre Tierra is really good and where her family likes to go. She was so right!Tortillas con queso were really good. I also got the lomo adobado which was delicious. Dessert was excellent as well but honestly I barely had room because the dinner was so filling!!To top it off I gave a food allergy (nuts) and not only was I extremely grateful for their concern but I noticed on my final bill, my allergy was very clearly noted in two different places for the waitstaff. Not only that when I ordered desert, a different waiter came after I placed the order (they work as a team) to double check and make sure I was okay with cocoa and that it is not a nut. How did he know I was allergic to nuts when he was not the waiter I told? Because the staff cared and communicated this with each other.I had a drink, appetizer, entre and dessert for 200 quetzales, with tip.
One of the best restaurants for breakfast in Antigua Guatemala , I enjoyed my breakfast here, Great customer service from the host to all staff is amazing! Food yummy I will be back again here for breakfast, also I will try for lunch and dinner.
